Welcome to South Louisiana Seed Company, Inc. We have been servicing the needs of South Louisiana since 1935. Lynn Richard was the original owner and hired Roy Callahan in 1953 to manage the store for him.
Roy was barely 20 years old when he came on board, but his ability to communicate with customers, along his intuitive business sense, has made him an integral part of the success and history surrounding our business.
Don Callahan, Roy's youngest son, became involved on a regular basis in 1992, and has helped his dad bring the store to a more modern level, while not tinkering with what has made the business successful. Customer service and product knowledge have been two crucial tools that we here at South Louisiana Seed Company have been preaching to our employees for many years. When you walk through our doors you can be assured that we take you and any potential problems you have very seriously. Our staff has over 100 years of experience that we are happy to pass on to our customers. We don't have all of the answers, and when we can't answer your question then and there, we will research and get you an answer in a timely fashion.
We carry many different brands, and offer many different services. Some of the brands that we carry are of course Purina, Farnam products, Hi Yield, Fertilome, Pennington brand, Kaytee small pet, Zupreem, Green Light, Roundup, Watch Us Grow, and many more.
Customer service and the knowledge behind all of our in-house products is something we are known for in the tri-parish area. We have our home in Terrebonne Parish, but also service customers in Lafourche, and Assumption parishes. Every day we have customers who have problems who come to us, and really depend on us for direction and information. With as much competition as there is for your dollar out there we pride ourselves on keeping current with the latest pesticides, herbicides, and other products we carry.
We know what works, and we know what doesn't work so well. Don Callahan is a certified Pest Control Advisor who will ensure that you leave our store with the correct product the first time, eliminating any guess work.
Ultimately, the most important asset that we have is our customers. In today's society where everything goes by so fast, and time is so precious, we never take our customers for granted and appreciate the opportunity to serve South Louisiana.
